You love decorating your home or office with pictures or framed artwork. But you want to do it in a way that will be pleasing for people to look at. You feel that it is very important to do it correctly so as to not have to go back and fix them.

Here are several picture hanging mistakes that you should be on the lookout for and make sure that you are not doing them. We are here to help you in that regard. Read on to learn more.

You Put The Pictures Up Too High

This is like nearly anything else in your home that you view. You don’t put the flat-screen television high up on the wall, otherwise you are going to have to crane your neck to see the picture and that can hurt. Instead, you want to put pictures where you can see everything comfortably sitting or standing.

That means putting the picture at about eye level, which would translate to about 60 inches off the floor with a maximum of 65 inches. That will allow you, your family, or your guests to look at them without having to strain. It makes for much easier viewing.

You Put a Single Small Piece on the Wall

There is just something that looks really off with a single small frame against a backdrop of a really large wall. It throws the proportions off and it can even make it look like the wall is about to swallow the artwork. There is a better way of going about it.

That way is to group several small pictures together to make it look more cohesive and larger. It will be easier for people to look at and absorb. You can even do themes this way.

You Stick To The Same Pattern All The TIme

While there is something to be said for continuity, it is also good to shake things up and move things around. That means you could rotate the pictures around your home … almost like your own personal museum. You could move things by season or your mood.

Doing this can also change your outlook since the brain does like seeing new things. By changing up the pictures, you can make your brain think that it is looking at a changed room. Don’t underestimate what doing this can do for you.

These are just some mistakes to avoid. You will love how it looks when you finish hanging things up.
