About Systematic Art
Our History
Systematic Art Inc. was established in 2005 with a focus on innovative, museum-quality picture hanging systems and professional art display hardware. In its early years, Systematic Art primarily served galleries, museums and corporations around the world. As the company grew, we recognized that the same flexible hanging systems used in professional environments could also provide an attractive and practical solution for individual art collectors, homeowners, architects and interior designers.
Our experience working directly with artwork and professional installations helped shape the development of our own dedicated picture hanging hardware. Rather than approaching picture hanging as simply attaching artwork to a wall, we developed systems designed to make displaying, adjusting and repositioning artwork easier while creating a clean and professional presentation.

A Better Way to Hang Art
We believe that hanging art is about more than putting nails into a wall. A properly designed picture hanging system becomes part of the space itself, providing flexibility while allowing the artwork to remain the visual focus.
Systematic Art's picture rails, hanging cables and rods, picture hooks and related hardware allow artwork to be hung, adjusted and repositioned without repeatedly creating new mounting holes in walls. Once the system is installed, artwork can be rearranged as collections, exhibitions and interiors change.
Systematic Art Hanging Systems
In 2007, Systematic Art made its art and picture hanging products available online to the public. Our goal was to make professional hanging methods more accessible while bringing a modern approach to systems that have been used to display artwork for generations.
A traditional Systematic Art picture hanging system is built around three primary components. The first is the picture rail, sometimes referred to as the track, which creates the foundation of the system. The second is the hanging cable or rod, which connects the rail to the hanging hardware below. The third is the adjustable picture hook, which attaches to the cable or rod and supports the artwork while allowing its vertical position to be adjusted.
Together, these components create a modular system that allows artwork to be moved and repositioned without starting the installation over each time. Different rails, cables, rods, hooks and accessories can be selected according to the installation, artwork and architectural environment.

Our approach to developing picture hanging hardware began by listening to the people who install, handle, display and work with artwork every day. During the development of our products, Systematic Art sought feedback from professionals who understood the practical requirements of hanging and presenting artwork.
Those who contributed ideas and feedback included museum curators, gallerists, artists, professional art handlers, architects, interior designers, industrial engineers, framers, photographers and professionals associated with major auction houses. Their experience helped us consider not only how hanging hardware should look, but how it should function during installation and when artwork needs to be changed or repositioned.

They also provide flexibility for changing collections because artwork can be repositioned without repeatedly installing new wall anchors for every arrangement.
